Dry, damaged hair can benefit from treatments containing avocado. Avocados contain beneficial levels of Vitamins A, D and E and oils shown to provide hydration to hair. Masks sold in stores can be costly, but you can make your own avocado mask at home with ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen. An avocado mask can be used once or twice a month for deep conditioning, depending on how damaged your hair is.
Instructions
- Flesh of one ripe avocado
- Bowl
- Fork
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 2 tbsp. olive oil or sweet almond oil
Mash the flesh of the avocado in the bowl with a fork until it has a guacamole-like consistency.
Measure and add to the bowl 1 tbsp. of honey and 2 tbsp. of the olive or sweet almond oil.
Mix all of the ingredients together thoroughly. The mask should be thick but smooth.
Apply the mask to freshly washed, towel-dried hair. Leave the treatment on the hair for 20 to 25 minutes and then rinse it out completely with warm water.
Tips & Warnings
Because avocados are perishable, make the mask just prior to using.
