Carmel Hair Treatment

The caramel hair treatment is an effective, all-natural way to enrich your locks without damaging them any more than they already are. Not that you purposely damage your hair, but the environment along with other products you may have used on your hair have been damaging it for years, even if you haven't noticed.

Buy the Product

  • E'Tae puts out a line of caramel hair treatments made only with all-natural materials. The products have no harmful additives and are chemical- and fragrance-free. The caramel hair treatment is good for all hair types because it is solely meant to condition, soften and make your hair naturally healthier. You can purchase the E'Tae Natural Carmelux-Shampoo in a 12-ounce bottle for $28.50, and the E'Tae Natural Carmelux-Conditioner in a 4-ounce bottle for $22.50.

Make it Yourself

  • If you are looking for a less expensive hair-treatment option, make the "caramel" mixture yourself. While it probably will not cost as much as buying the ready-made product, you might still have to purchase what you don't already have in your kitchen.
The ingredients you'll need for your home-made treatment are as follows: For moisture, you need 6 tablespoons each of water, olive oil and honey. For protein, you need 3 tablespoons of molasses and 2 or 3 very ripe bananas, extra soft and easy to use. You also need 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar for shine, and 1 to 2 tablespoons of starch, depending on the thickness of the mixture.
Combine all the ingredients except the water and heat them until well mixed. The thinner you want the mixture to be, the more water you should add. But remember, you don't want it so thick that it won't spread, or too drippy that it won't stay in place.
After all are combined, cover your hair from root to tip and leave the treatment on for an hour. If you have really dry hair, you can even leave it on overnight. Rinse out in the shower when finished, and you will not only feel, but actually see the difference it has made on your hair. If you have extra mixture left over, freeze it and thaw it out the next time you want to use it. The caramel hair treatment usually lasts for a month.
